Why Learn List Building
With Alex Jeffreys Student?
To learn list building on your own is certainly possible but to avoid many mistakes,
learning along with a student of Alex Jeffreys makes good sense.
Alex has built and is building his mailing list very successfully. For him targeted opt in list and email marketing is the foundation of his activities and success.
The student, Vance Sova considers list building to be the most important activity and foundation builder for any business in general and the foundation for internet marketing business in particular.
He’s not just mimicking Alex Jeffreys. Vance has thoroughly investigated the importance of building a mailing list.
O.K., I’m Vance Sova and I’m the student. I’m learning from Alex Jeffreys and with him. The methods Alex uses work. You can get his free e-book on list building and learn his methods from it now.
But both Alex and Vance still keep learning.
Like everything else the methods and ways to build a responsive email list constantly evolve and change.
Alex is busy developing business and marketing systems and takes more global view on things. He is not much into details now. He’s in the high big league.
Vance, on the other hand, is in the process of mastering the art of list building. He is closer to your level than Alex and therefore will be thrilled to share with you everything he learns about list building as he learns it and implements it. He will share with you what works, what works the best and what doesn’t work.
Right, I’ll go back to using “I” for a while. I just get tired using it all the time.
Well, I want to share with you that building a list is both easy and hard. It is easy when you listen to people who have done it. It is very hard to do it from zero, from scratch.
Even Alex says that it is easy BUT it does take time. It took other now successful internet marketers 3 or more years to build a significant and large email list. Even Alex took more than a year.
If you read the articles available on the internet about list building you’ll find that most of them will give you points or steps that you need to implement. But they are all just a summary.
You certainly can’t implement any of them without further instructions that would tell you more closely what to do and how to do it.
Virtually everybody who touches the list building subject steers away from it very quickly.
It is not a get rich quick scheme and it is not therefore a big and popular money maker.
It could also be that the big wigs and gurus who seem to get the big chunk of internet marketing niche profits are reluctant to create more competition for themselves.
But if you and I don’t learn how to build a list we will always be at the mercy of get rich quick schemes and those who profit from them.
I’ve decided to learn everything about list building that I can from what is available on the net and from Alex Jeffreys and develop a method that anyone can follow.
Aside from Alex’s e-book I have yet to find anything that would fit the method that I just described.
If it exists I’ll find it soon and will let you know exactly where I found it. My mission will thus be accomplished and I’ll continue building my list without writing one more word on the subject.
I invite you to please let me know in your comments of any comprehensive and yet concise list building course aside from that of Alex Jeffreys.
Also, please let me know what you’d like to learn about list building and any helpful tips you may have discovered. We can all work together on this without forming a list building club. At least for now.
I looked into a list building club which is readily available on the internet and I’m not convinced that it is what I’m looking for. (That club is a paid club incidentally).
There has to be a better way.
I’m writing this post to challenge myself as well as you the readers.
Let’s learn list building with Alex Jeffreys, Vance Sova, Everybody. Let’s learn list building together.

Hi Vance,
Great to see you still keeping so much focus on list building. This has also become my main focus and soon i will be releasing my first product that shows how i added 1231 subscribers in one month.
There are many ways to build your list, but they all comprise of the same elements, as squeeze page, a good free offer, and traffic.
The first two elements are easy, it is the traffic that seems to be the hurdle for many people. But there are list building resources in place to aid this, such as Giveaway events and AdSwap sites where you can look for JV partners to swap with.
Look forward to seeing your list building efforts succeed Vance, such an important component to an online business.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul,
I look forward to seeing your first product.
Having a squeeze page is quite elementary to seasoned marketers but it was not so for me when I started. And as I mention elsewhere many internet marketing courses don’t even mention it. A good free offer is what I learned about later. Traffic I think is emphasized often enough.
On your next visit here I’d appreciate if you could drop another pointer on list building. Keep in touch.
Thank you for commenting.
Vance.
Hi Vance
Well written post, pretty much my focus from now on as well, even though I am trying to put generate traffic alongside it – I guess both go hand in hand.
To share what I am doing, I am entering my own free product into giveaway sites – from there whoever opts in to my list, I will lay down the gauntlet to them to action what is in the ebook and give them support if they need it, then as I progress, share the breakthroughs with the list.
Not sure how it will pan out yet, but its a strategy that kind of falls into the bracket of ‘marketing with you’ – I kind of think a few months making a name for yourself working for free will pay dividends later.
Time will tell…….

Hi Peter,
Thank you for commenting. I think you are ahead of me in taking action. I have yet to enter a giveaway since I’m still working on my product. Please keep sharing how things are working out for you with your plan. I think it’s awesome that you are taking the give first approach.
Things will pan out eventually and will pay dividends for long time to come.
Vance.
Hi Vance,
I like your approach to this post, and how you do it.
We can all benefit greatly, by working together on list
building, its only hard to do, if we make it that way.
The most important thing is taking action, trying new things all the time, until you are comfortable with what
works.
I have submitted my article to EzineArticles yesterday,
about list building and how it works.
They have put me as Expert Author, ( I don’t know why).
but it makes me feel good anyway.
I will let you know when they approve it to review.
Keep up the good work you are doing.
thanks
Rich C.

Hi Rich,
I’m glad you like my approach. On this post and comments I invite everybody to share their views on list building and hopefully also things that work for them.
That way we can all learn together and help each other. Sometimes one good point can make a huge difference in the overall outcome.
Congrats on becoming an expert author. And please do let me know when your article on list building is out so I can read it. I now try to read anything on the list building subject.
Thanks for coming for a visit on my blog.
Vance.

Hey Glenn,
Great to hear from you. And thank you.
I’m trying to stay focused on what Alex Jeffreys is teaching us. I do review it often and follow everything I can. I’m not going as fast as I’d want but List Building is my focus. It is that of Alex.
I’d like to ask you to add one point to your comment on your next visit: The one thing that I consider the most important regarding list building. You can also add what works the best for you.
Vance.
Before deciding on whether to buy the coaching program, the first thing I did was to Google for the name of this guru and find out how he makes money.
You since the invent on internet nowadays quite difficult for anybody to hide is reputation and what had he osr she been done in the past.
What I’m try to tell you is don’t blindly listen to a guru simply because he is famous. Look behind the scene and find out what he does for living.
If what the guru does is what you envision to do, by all means, listen to everything he says. Or else, that guru is NOT your guru.

Vance,
Like Glenn says… you have great writing ability.
There’s one trick that may help you… Goal Setting. I know it gets a bad rap, but for some really wierd reason it works.
Determine how many people are currently on your list and then double that number. Write that new doubled number on a piece of paper in big black marker and also put a date two weeks from today.
Then look at that piece of paper a couple times each day thinking you’ve just got to figure out and do whatever it takes to get there.
Look at how your current names got there in the first place and look to some other ideas too.
As Les Brown says… “Set your sights on the stars and even if you don’t make it you’ll likely reach the moon’.
Goal Setting is my secret.
Hope that helps.

Hi Rob,
Thank you very much.
You hit the nail on the head. Goal setting will help me if and when I do it properly and consistently. I have been resisting proper goal setting and while I do it more than ever before it is still something that I have to improve on a lot.
Vance.
Hi Vance,
Just thought I’d drop by to say hello and share my progress.
I’m still a newbie and I’m trying to put Alex Jeffreys ideas into practice, but so far I only have 5 people on my list, so I’d really like you to write about the techniques that have worked best for yourself.
Speak soon,
John

Hi John,
Please realize that list building starts very, very slow. There are several basis that need to be covered. You no doubt have one or two platforms set up to which you can send traffic. But how much traffic do you get on your blog? The next step is to work on traffic if you are getting less than you’d like. You can read my post about “Get Traffic To Your Opt-in Form”
As mentioned by Alex and others, having your own product works the best for getting people to opt in to your list. I’m still working on mine and will report the results once it’s been out for at least a month. If the results are great I’ll do that sooner.
Have you tried giveaways? Article marketing, You Tube Videos?
Do all those things mentioned in my post cited above (I forgot to mention article marketing there) and find out what works best for you and then stick with it. It is still early in the game for you and me and the thing to do is to work at it and don’t worry too much about getting results right away.
What works best for me? Keyword research and SEO for traffic and commenting on relevant high ranking sites that Google likes.
I hope this helps.
Vance
Heck! It is important to maintain the checklist of names and address of our consumers, dealers and other business people for a profitable business without any hassle. So I love your idea of list building to have lucrative business deals literally without any mess up. And I would appreciate the work of Alex and Vance for their free e-book on list building literally. Thanks for your post!
