Look at iPhone 5 & iPhone 4-Power Support Screen Protector-Case
Have a look at iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 back to back, at Power Support Anti-Glare Screen Protection Film on the iPhone 5 and at Tech21 Impactology Mesh case for the iPhone 5 both with the iPhone 5 inside of it and empty. The case is made of TPU which is thermoplastic polyurethane* (look for more info about this material below). This is kind of a multi-product review which took place at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver.
The protective case is very necessary for the iPhone 5, much more so than for the iPhone 4 as Spencer Whitney points out, because the iPhone 5 is constructed with aluminum as opposed to steel which is used on iPhone 4. Particularly the edges made of aluminum will get worn out if not protected.
The screen protector will reduce glare and finger prints and it makes the fingers move much easier on the surface of the screen.
There are of course many types of cases and screen protectors for the iPhone 5.
The ones shown in the video are what Spencer likes and favors.
*)The case material Spencer likes best as shown in this video is TPU, a thermoplastic polyurethane which is technically thermoplastic elastomer consisting of linear segmented block copolymers composed of hard and soft segments. TPU is known for its elasticity, transparency, resistance to oil, grease and abrasion.
The full name of the case Spencer shows in this video is Tech21 D30 Impact Shell Snap On Skin Case Cover – Clear for iPhone 5. You can check its price and availability on Amazon at the link below:
You may also consider getting the Otter Box protective case for your iPhone 5 or iPhone 4. It is very highly rated by most reviewers.
You can check the price and availability for Otter Box Defender Series Case for iPhone 5 at the link below:
The Otter Box Commuter Series Case for iPhone 5 – Night Sky can be checked and bought at this link:
Have another look at the case Spencer likes below and which I like too.
Samsung QF20 Review
This handy, compact camcorder with 20 times optical zoom, built in WiFi and 2.7 inch touch screen made Dot Com Pho’s gadget of the week on May 05, 2012.
Samsung QF20 also works when flipped upside down which is good for those who are left-handed.
There seems to be a large disparity in prices in Canada and the US for this camcorder right now according to the reviewer Michael Kwan. In Canada it may cost up to $400 before tax and in the US $250.
Towards the end of this video you can see Samsung QF20 side by side with a cell phone which shows that the relatively small size of this camera. It can still fit in most pockets which is important since portability matters to most people most of the time.

Griffin Survivor for iPad Review
Watch Griffin Survivor for iPad Review at Dot Com Pho at Mui Ngo Gai Restaurant. The Griffin Survivor protective case for iPad is a good fit for taking the iPad with you to restaurants and other places without worrying about scratching it or dropping it. It won’t easily slip out of your hands because the case provides a firm grip.
Spencer talks about the benefits and features of the Griffin Survivor case for iPad and why he bought it in his review of it which forms the first part of this video.
The second part of this video shows the participants of this Dot Com Pho lunch and the food we had during it at Mui Ngo Gai Vietnamese Restaurant on Kingsway in Vancouver, BC.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review
Watch Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver, BC. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is currently banned from being sold in Australia, Germany, the UK and most of Europe except for the Netherlands. Update December 09 2011: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is now allowed to be sold in Australia.
Whether you live in those countries or not you can have a good look at Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 through the eyes of Michael Kwan and my camera in this video.
Galaxy Tab 10.1 is probably the best Android tablet so far. It is sleek, light, (even slightly lighter than the iPad 2) and you can even take a screen shot with it.
The screen is slightly wider than that of iPad 2 although it is not as tall.
The back of this Samsung tablet has a plastic back cover which to some may look and feel tacky when compared to iPad 2 metal back cover but some may prefer it for what seems to be a better grip when holding it.

Asus Eee Pad Slider Review
Asus Eee Pad Slider Review at Dot Com Pho shows how you can easily change tablet to notebook. Michael Kwan shows the Asus Eee Pad Slider making his qualified comments about it as an experienced reviewer of such products.
Both Michael Kwan and Bonnie Saisbury mention during their review a few points about Asus versus iPad.
Bonnie Sainsbury has used the Asus for a week and likes it very much saying that she successfully used it exclusively without having to use her laptop.
She doesn’t mind the 2 pounds of weight that Asus Eee Pad Slider has and which is much more than what iPad weighs because she’s not used to iPad. She likes Android and doesn’t own any Apple products.

Aaxa P4 Pico Projector Review
Aaxa P4 Pico Projector review at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver BC. Michael Kwan shows off this very handy and useful small size projector. Even at daylight on a sunny day and projecting on a partially painted window glass the images were visible and quite good. You can check it out for pricing and availability on Amazon right below this video.

Panasonic Lumix GF2 Review
This Panasonic Lumix GF2 review at Dot Com Pho is done mainly by Michael Kwan with Ed Lau, a professional photographer giving his qualified opinion and Vance Sova who asks if GF2 is like a Ferrari of cameras.
The answer to that question is no but all three reviewers agree that Panasonic Lumix GF2 is a very good camera.
It has a touch screen, pop up flash, a shoe and stereo microphones among other things.
This camera was used by John Chow for about 6 months and he was very happy with it.
You may find it funny towards the end of the video to hear what they say about reading instruction manuals.

Owle Bubo Mount Review
Watch Owle Bubo Mount Review by John Chow at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver BC to see a video making setup for iPhone 4s and iPhone 4 with optional Rode Video Microphone Pro. If you want your video audio to be of high quality Rode video mike is a way to go.
Owle Bubo Mount is made of solid aluminum. Weighing about 2 pounds, it’s very stable standing on a table too. It has a wide angle lens, tripod mounts and legs that also serve as handles for a nice firm grip.
Try to avoid using the microphone that comes with the Owle Bubo Mount. It’s of poor quality and when moved on its swivel it picks up highly audible squeaky noise.

Sony Tablet S Review
Watch Sony Tablet S review at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver. Sony Tablet S is an Android Honeycomb tablet with a unique ergonomic design to make it easy to hold even with one hand. The wedge shape also makes it easier to read and to write when the tablet is placed on a flat surface like that of a table.
Aside from having full size SD slot, Sony customizations, Sony apps like Crackle and the unique shape, Sony Tablet S is comparable with all the other Android tablets.

Dell XPS 1Z5 Laptop Review – Mac Book Pro Look Alike?
Watch a very unbiased Dell XPS 15Z Laptop Review which took place at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver BC. See for yourself if this notebook is a MacBook Pro look alike.
At least from the outside it’s looking remarkably similar to Apple’s Mac Book Pro. On the inside it’s a different story.
Michael Kwan who does this review is quite happy with the performance of Dell XPS 15Z with the exception of the battery life which is quite low.
Just watch and listen to what he has to say.

Samsung Galaxy Note Review- Phone too Big?
Watch Samsung Galaxy Note review at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver BC. Michael Kwan says the phone is too big for a phone and it’s too small to be a tablet. It’s awkward to hold with one hand. In this video you can also see Samsung Galaxy Note next to iPhone and later next to Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Aside from the big size which Michael Kwan and Ed Lau classify as enormous, the Galaxy Note phone is loaded with features some of which Michael mentions.
While there is probably market for it, none of the people present at this Dot Com Pho is likely to even consider buying it. Watch and listen and you may have a different opinion or agree with us.

LG Optimus 3D Review
LG Optimus 3D Review gives a look at a new LG Android smart phone at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver. It’s the first ever Dot Com Pho review done in front of CBC TV camera. CBC’s Andrew Lavigne was filming this review done by Michael Kwan too.
The LG Optimus 3D has 2 cameras on its back which allows it to take 3D videos and 3D photos. It also has a 3D display and several 3D applications and 3D games.
Other than that it’s a pretty much regular Android phone.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Review
Watch Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus review at Dot Com Pho in Vancouver and Find out how it’s different from the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Android tablet which it’s an update to.
The new tablet has “Plus” in the name because it has a dual core 1 or 1.2 GHz processor and 5 megapixel camera on the back. It’s not running on gingerbread as the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 but on honeycomb (3-3.2).
It also has a front camera for self-portrait or video conferencing. The power and the volume buttons are on the same side.
The screen is basically the same size as on the Playbook, except the aspect ratio is slightly different in that the screen is slightly longer and narrower compared to that of Playbook.
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is definitely faster than the original Galaxy Tab 7.0.

.
I think Samsung Galaxy Note is too big. will not fit in my pants pocket, so I have to provide a small bag specifically for this gadget. But for performance, both when running the application, be it office applications and games, I am quite satisfied.
