Depends how much of the media related tools you will be needed. More video and media, get a MAC. If it isn’t that important, save your money and get a PC. Both make great products just depends what you are more into.

Hi Innes,

Welcome to my blog. If you have both good Mac and a good PC you are set up and can use both computers for Internet marketing. Use your Mac for everything you can since you prefer Mac. Only if there’s no other alternative for a particular software use your PC. If you are just starting you will be hard pressed to find an occasion where you cannot do something on a Mac. I suggest that you think very hard before deciding to use a software for which there is no Mac version or another software that will do the job on a Mac.

But if you are used to a particular PC software already do use it on your PC. I installed Windows PC on my Mac because I wanted to use some PC only software that I was used to. I find that I use it less and less as time passes.

It seems that more and more internet marketers are getting and using Macs.

Hi,
I am in London UK , I am an internet marketing newbie , great to see this discussion thanks very
much. I have always used and prefer Macs but I do also own a good pc , but its hell if something goes wrong with them . Macs just seem to run smoother. But I need to build sites and the software on offer is as you say mainly for pc, so maybe to run the both on the Mac is the way to go for me, because I am floundering around looking on how to get started in internet marketing on the Mac, any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Jack,

Good points. I’m not a programmer and don’t intend to be. The graphics and video are said to be much better on a Mac. I know from experience that video is easier and better with Mac. Having both systems is the best solution for those who need them. In the end I’m glad I have a Mac and the PC is there as well on it in Boot Camp for the times I need to use a PC application.

If you’re planning on doing anything with computer programming go with a PC. Otherwise design and media run much cleaner on a Mac. It’s a personal preference depending on what you are working on… I have both

Hi Keith,

I think that the discussion will last for as long as there are PCs and Macs. I my opinion Apple has enough money to keep developing the Mac and at the same time keep on developing iPhone, iPad and inventing more new great products.

I wouldn’t dream of trying to persuade anyone to switch from using one system for another if what they have and use is doing everything for them that they need.

Guess that this is one of the discussions that will run and run.
I know that the graphics boys swear by Macs but the price has always put me off and I’ve never found my PC lacking when I work with graphics.

I heard someone say recently that because all the Apple profits are now coming from iPhone / iPod, all the development is going in that direction and not on the Mac – don’t know if that’s true.
