Your questions are all valid and good but the answer to them would vary according to the many factors that you seem to be aware of.

Some people, like you, do not even remember that they subscribed and do not read any follow up emails. The percentage of subscribers that read the emails varies depending on the subject line too. What you want to do is to find those people who are really interested in what you provide and not worry about those who will lose interest if they really had any real interest and not just curiosity in the first place.

I know that I myself don’t ever bother reading emails I get from “subscriptions”, as most of the time, I don’t even remember subscribing. I’m sure I’m not alone in this.

I’ll give your ebook a read, as it might help my understanding – as you can tell from my questions, I probably don’t have a particularly good grasp of the fundamentals.

It seems that you know quite a bit about list building and how to treat your subscribers.

As far as not sending your list offers that you know they aren’t interested in that is very clear.

But I think that if I’m truly convinced they might benefit from something I believe in then I should not hesitate too much and send it to them.

After all they subscribed in order to get more information related to what they were interested in in the first place.

I still make the mistake of not emailing my lists often enough. Never the opposite of sending them offers too often.

Presently, list building is deemed an absolutely important component of marketing strategy. It is thought of being an investment which will generate long-lasting profit and escalate profits.

By building a list that is helpful, you can reach your customers and have a chance to build long-run relationships with them.
Without making a list it will be extremely difficult to sell your products or services. Regardless of where they live, you can communicate with them as long as they are in the list.

But never make the error of bombarding your target market with invalid offers or undue advertisements. Only contact them when you have a product or service that might be important to them, not you.

To a lot of people all three terms are virtually interchangeable. I try to distinguish between email list and mailing list just because there is still snail mail. Some companies do regular physical mailings too.

To me email list and subscriber list are virtually the same but subscribers are sometimes talked of when people mean rss feed subscribers.

This is why we need to pay a close attention to these terms and find out from context what is really meant.

When it comes to talking about email subscribers I think the best term to use is email list.

I’m a little bit confused here. “Another term for email list is subscriber list” because I’ve read that mailing list is the list of email addresses right? so email list or mailing list or subscriber list is all the same? correct me if I’m wrong.
